Working closely with the owner EOA completely renovated this top floor duplex. Light from a greenhouse structure above was brought through a new open stair to illuminate the first level. The spacious and airy kitchen is centrally located in the space and connects the surrounding areas. Reclaimed materials and re-use of specially sourced elements such as doors and countertops are integrated into the space to shape and give a sense of texture to what was originally a neutral box. The goal was to bring light throughout the two floors and to create a warm and functional family home.
