Services: Architecture

The program required design studios, executive offices, showrooms, manufacturing facilities and a warehouse. The integrity of the original industrial space was maintained by inserting the new architecture as a series of layers and delaminations. Lumasite walls bring light to the desk pool at the center of this deep building. Large rolls of fabric assembled in a specially detailed superstructure create another type of wall, connecting the material of the product to the material of the space. New gypsum walls are punctuated by light boxes and display niches. Oversized and aligned pocket doors create interior corridors between offices. These gestures create contiguous spaces throughout, highlighting the openness of the program and the office environment.
